UPDATES

Cranleigh Voices Vintage tea parties

We haven’t held any Cranleigh Voices Vintage tea parties this year because Cranleigh Heritage Trust has been developing a fabulous new web site with so much history, including previous Cranleigh Voices recordings, that we just haven’t had the time – so sorry. These will resume soon. In the meantime please go to My Cranleigh website and enjoy and also comment – click here to access the website.

Cranleigh’s old Cottage Hospital

– the 15th century building only – will be repaired as soon as the builders can be found. Sorry it is taking so long – there is so much we have to do behind the scenes. When it is available the outcomes will be – conserved but also modernised enough spaces to use for Heritage Education events, Health and Wellbeing services, and to hire for any other use – the spaces are really rather different to other assets in Cranleigh! We will also be an Information Point, Connecting Cranleigh and Villages’ people to activities and services alongside Destination Cranleigh – click here – and Surrey County Council’s Connect to Support – click here. It is all very exciting and time consuming. Our small team is doing its best.

Cranleigh 1000 Club

Cranleigh 1000 club is a year old and the June draw will be this Saturday – you can join and support our volunteers who care for our heritage buildings. click here

Cranleigh’s water sources health

There is a small team of volunteers testing Cranleigh’s rivers and streams for health indications – good or poor. Throughout the drought some water has flowed and mostly been healthy in terms of riverfly lavae and chemicals. Downstream of the sewage works (300 meters) is not so good but we are keeping an eye on it.

Planning

Longhurst care home was closed years ago – and is finally to be made into dwellings.

Dunsfold is still being cleaned up.
