This is really bad news for Cranleigh. More development by a second rate builder with a third rate plan. At the risk of stating the blindingly obvious, Cranleigh’s infrastructure is already creaking at the seams and this will add to it. The development is needlessly close to the Downslink and drainage / flooding will be a serious issue in years to come. By Googling Gleesons they appear to have a poor reputation and build low quality homes,

Please let’s ensure that at the very least the Downslink is protected. The leaflet says “ALL EXISTING PUBLIC FOOTPATHS WILL BE RETAINED AND IMPROVED” Many of us will not was to see any stetch of the Downslink ‘IMPROVED’ by being turned into a tarmacked or lit path.

I assume all existing trees bordering the Downslink will remain and that (should the worst happen and permission be granted) the developers will plant more trees on the border of the development to improve screening from Hitherwood.
